ICROA's Executive Management Team:

Chair:

Gerald Maradan,

CEO and co-founder, EcoAct,

Gerald has been CEO and co-founder of EcoAct since 2005. He holds a MSc in engineering from INPG, a MRes in Physics as well as an MBA from HEC School of Management. Before creating EcoAct, he has worked for 7 years at STMicroelectronics in strategic and environmental project development and developed an extensive non-profit background for several organizations. He’s also a Lecturer in Climate Change and Carbon Finance at Université Paris IV Sorbonne and Université de Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, and a Peer Reviewer for VCS REDD methodologies.

Deputy Chair:

Jamal Gore,

Managing Director, Carbon Clear,

Jamal Gore is Managing Director of Carbon Clear and provides technical oversight to the company’s work.  He has worked for the past 18 years providing climate change, sustainable energy and business expertise to projects in Africa, Europe and North America. Jamal is a Chartered Environmentalist and IEMA Full Member and recently became an accredited consultant to the Carbon Disclosure Project. Jamal has participated in the development of the British Standards Institute specification on carbon neutrality and delivered a variety of presentations and technical training at international carbon conferences. Jamal speaks and writes regularly on international climate change and carbon management issues, and was a contributing author for the climate change and energy chapters of the 2010 IEMA reference handbook. Jamal is an expert in global voluntary carbon markets and has significant expertise in CDM policy dialogue. Jamal holds a Master’s degree from the University of California at Berkeley’s Energy and Resources Group, and an MBA from London Business School. 

Steve Hewson, 

Director Of Sales And Marketing, CO2 Balance. 

Steve supports ICROA's marketing capacity. Steve is director of sales and marketing at C02 Balance. From an initial career in Horticulture Steve has been successful in business with a range of blue chip organisations, previous to joining co2balance he was Marketing Director for Toshiba TEC UK.  

Sophy Greenhalgh,

Programme Manager, IETA. 

Sophy manages the day to day operations of ICROA. Sophy has 9 years experience in climate change, sustainability and corporate social responsibility, working as a consultant and project manager for the private sector, Department of Food and Rural Affairs and the EU commission, covering a variety of large scale carbon mitigation projects. Previously Sophy managed UK government's programme for resource efficiency in London. She has also been lead developer and author for a number of local and regional government climate change strategies. Sophy holds a Bsc in Geology and Geography and professional qualifications in ISO14001 auditing and ISO26000 reporting.
