Chair: Gérald Maradan
Co-founder and CEO of EcoAct Group
Gérald created EcoAct Group in 2005, and is also is the co-founder of the NGO Entrepreneurs for Life, which supports innovative social entrepreneurs with the aim of reducing poverty. He has coordinated more than 100 consulting missions, and participated in the development of more than 25 carbon offsetting programs (biomass, wind, methanisation, hydroelectricity, heat recovery, energy efficiency, REDD+).
Gérald also worked for STMicroelectronics, which is one of the worlds leaders in new technologies. He was responsible for the development of environmental programs, and was involved in 1996, in the world's first large-scale carbon neutrality experiment. He has since accompanied many groups in implementing their carbon neutrality policies. Gérald was also Co-Chair of ICROA in 2013 & 2014.
Physicist and engineer by training (he holds an engineering degree from INPG - Grenoble Institute of Technology - and a MRes in Physics from INP Toulouse), he also received an MBA from HEC Paris. Gérald has been a lecturer at the University of Paris Sorbonne, and is a regular speaker at international conferences.
Chair: Sandeep Roy Choudhury
Director of VNV Advisory Services Pvt. Ltd.
Sandeep is a co-founder at VNV Advisory Services, a social enterprise working with communities & climate change. He is also a director at "Carbon Initiative forum", a non-profit working on climate change awareness. He heads VNV’s ownership on low carbon social development projects such as sustainable agriculture, social forestry, clean cooking, rural energy access and waste management. His work encompasses over 4 million rural households across the South Asia region and over 40 NGOs and implementation partners. He has worked in the carbon markets for over a decade and has extensive experience with Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) and Voluntary Carbon Reduction (VCR) projects worldwide. He has recently been working with multiple stakeholders for the development of domestic carbon markets across Asia.
He plays an advisory role to over 100 companies and non-profits for sustainability and climate related affairs. He also holds positions in the board of multiple NGOs across the South Asia region. Sandeep has over 15 years of industry experience in various fields, with 6 years dedicated to the consulting business. He has a degree in electronics and is a certified auditor for various sustainability standards such as the forest stewardship council and is a certified sustainability assessor by the Confederation of Indian Industries. He also has a fellowship from Salzburg Global.
Programme Director: Antoine Diemert
Antoine joined ICROA in April 2017. He has a background in corporate finance and worked as an analyst at Kepler Cheuvreux in Geneva before joining ICROA. In this role he originated and executed mandates in the following fields: mergers & acquisitions, debt capital markets, equity capital markets. He previously worked for the UniCredit Group in Vienna and Paris where he helped set up a partnership with French asset manager Amundi and assisted Senior Bankers in their mandates with European corporates. Antoine holds a Master of Finance from ESSCA, France. In 2016 he obtained a certificate in climate and renewable energy finance from the Frankfurt School - UNEP Collaborating Centre for Climate & Sustainable Energy Finance.
IETA Associate: Sophy Greenhalgh
International Director - REDD+, Aviation & Voluntary Markets
Sophy has over 10 years experience in climate change, sustainability and corporate social responsibility. She has worked as a consultant and project manager for the private sector, Department of Food and Rural Affairs and the EU commission, covering a variety of large scale climate and sustainability projects. Previously Sophy managed UK government's programme for resource efficiency in London. She has also been lead developer and author for a number of local and regional government climate change strategies. Sophy holds a BSc in Geology and Geography and post grad in Environmental Management.
Sophy is currently on maternity leave.
